There are TWO stages to the programme:

STAGE ONE

Three full days of classroom training held on Saturdays from 9.45am to 5.00pm.

STAGE TWO

You have the opportunity to write articles for www.peoplewithvoices.com and to build a portfolio of published work.

Saturday 7 August Introduction to News Writing
Saturday 14 August Introduction to Feature Writing
Saturday 21 August Introduction to Media Law

Please note that these dates are subject to a mimimum of five students.

Fees

The cost of our Introduction to Journalism Skills Programme is £350.00

(You can also take any single course for £135)

Concessions

From time to time People with Voices will award a limited number of free places as follows:-

GROUP A
Young people aged between 16 and 18.

GROUP B
Individuals from black and Asian communities aged between 18 and 30.

Individuals from both groups must meet the following criteria:-

1.You must not be not in full- time work;
2.You must not be educated to degree level or enrolled on a a degree course.
3.You must be able to demonstrate a strong interest in becoming a journalist.

Free places are usually announced via a press release with a closing date for applying. We have no free places available at the present time, but please check back around June..
