ABOUT US

People with Voices is a social enterprise providing quality journalism training coupled with work experience in online journalism.

Our social aims and objectives are:

1)To encourage more young people into journalism from non-traditional backgrounds as 50 per cent of top journalists in the UK were privately educated.(Sutton Trust 2009).

2)To encourage more people into journalism careers from black and Asian communities as they are under-represented in the mainstream media.

Vision, Mission and Values

Our Vision

For journalists working in the mainstream media to be more representative of the social and ethnic diversity within British society

Our Mission

To widen access to the mainstream media for under-represented groups through a combined strategy of training, work experience and mentoring.

Our Values

Our work will be guided and informed by our beliefs and commitments to:

Inclusiveness: we respect people, value diversity and are committed to equality.

Participation: we believe in high levels of engagement to create mutual understanding.

Quality: we strive for excellence through continuous improvement.
